St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago is a breathtaking place; wall to wall murals of the Bible’s key figures depicted in a late-gothic tradition covered in shining gold surfaces. Anny and Dan asked me to document the ancient tradition of baptism for their newest baby girl at this most lovely sanctuary. I had never witnessed an Orthodox baptism so needless to say I was nervous of missing one of the many rituals that come and go quite quickly. With a little preparatory research and help from the Priest, the ceremony (and the pictures of the ceremony) went off without a hitch. Enjoy a few images from this beautiful day.
