Meggie and Zach: E-session

Meggie and Zach’s engagement session had more water in it than any I’ve ever done (or probably ever do again!). We met at Navy Pier in the midst of a pop-up rain storm that sent everyone running for cover. In the 45 minute window of clear sky before the next storm rolled through, we took a water taxi down the shore and landed at Museum Campus where the ominous black clouds were quite visible. We took pictures until the very last second, covered up as best we could, and briskly walked the last quarter mile in hurricane-like sheets of rain. I’ve never been that wet with clothes on before! It was literally an adventure and I can’t wait see what’s in store for their wedding in October!

Memorial Day with Grandparents

While people in Chicago fired up their grills and celebrated this country’s fantastic soldiers, I was able to go around town with three generations of one amazing family. My first session with this little guy was just after his entry into the world… and now he’s just crossed the two year mark! Here are a few pictures from our big adventure with a very special little guy.

2013 League of Chicago Theaters Gala

For the 4th consecutive year, KNP has had the privilege to photograph the annual League of Chicago Theaters Gala. This event brings together those who make Chicago’s great theater and those who love and support their endeavors. This year the event was held at the InterContinental Hotel on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. Award winners included Michael Halberstam, The Jeff Awards Committee, 16th Street Theater, and Jeff Perry. Thanks to the League for another night of great memories, you did a fantastic job!

Kali and Jeff: E-session

I’m so excited for Kali and Jeff’s wedding this summer, it will be KNPs first event in the great state of Kentucky! For their engagement session we met in the middle in Columbus, Ohio and visited the great neighborhood of Bexley. It’s clear from spending time with these two that their marriage is going to be a truly fun adventure. Can’t wait til July!

Moving On Up: Z’s Third Birthday!

It’s hard for me to believe, but I have had the honor of photographing each and every birthday party this bundle of sweetness has ever had. It feels like yesterday she was stumbling around her adoring guests and smashing into her first cake. Now she’s learning to be a little lady, making her own party pizza (complete with veggie toppings I don’t eat even as an adult!), and doing amazing art projects with her friends. Time moves so quickly, just another reason to get great pictures of it as it floats on by.

Oscar Night

Our little Charlotte is growing up so fast, seven months already! My mom got her this pretty red dress for Christmas and I’ve been meaning to document her in it before she’s unable to wear it any longer. So Oscar night became my arbitrary excuse for a glam photo session. She was long asleep before the first presenter came on stage but I’m sure she dreamed of golden statues!

I have been privileged to watch this little sweetie grow up before my lens, and what a big girl she’s becoming! For this year’s Christmas session we went to downtown Chicago for a quick parade around Macy’s Walnut Room and then over to the yearly German Christkindlemarket festival at Daley Plaza. We had a great time and made some amazing pictures!

I had a great time taking Christmas portraits with this adorable family, and they go down in the record books as the first twins KNP has had the honor of photographing! Our leading lady was not a big fan of cameras, so we had to be especially crafty to get good images of her, but I think they came out wonderfully! Enjoy a selection from this Christmas family session.
